The Wessex Dental Helpline works in partnership with other health partners across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to improve access to dental services.

Whether you're just looking to join a dentist to get regular check-ups, have a dental emergency or have a question about your treatment this website can give you:

  • accurate, up-to-date information on which dentists are currently taking on new NHS patients in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight;
  • advice on current NHS charges and;
  • contact details for other related services, where required.

Dental Emergencies

Most dental emergencies can be avoided by regularly attending appointments with an NHS dentist. To find a local dentist accepting NHS patients please use the local dentist search tool.

In a dental emergency residents and visitors to Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight can access the Wessex Dental Helpline via 111. You can speak to a trained dental advisor who can give advice on managing a dental problem, book an appointment for emergency dental treatment or help explain dental treatments and terminology. Just ring 111.
